Captain Awesome pointed out the other night at our church’s Prayer Gathering something I want to pass on because I thought it was so good!
So many times, we read and latch onto the verses regarding the Lord taking care of our enemies and vindicating us. There is nothing wrong with that, that is a natural response but have I ever prayed like verses 3-5 of this passage? If I am in the wrong, Lord, make me pay for it! ???
I’m pretty sure I have never prayed that. 😉 It was a good reminder when I am in the midst of feeling hurt, attacked, abandoned, whatever, I need to ask the Lord for clarity regarding my actions and responses and make sure I have taken the beam out of my eye so I may help remove the splinter from someone else’s eye. Am I at fault in this situation? How do I make it right?
What do you think? How could the Lord use this prayer in your life? I would love to read your thoughts in the comments below!Gina
